Rest In Peace Lazarus Haupindi

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong
It learned to walk without having feet.
Funny it seems but keeping its dreams
It learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one cared.

THE ROSE THAT GREW FROM A CRACK IN THE CONCRETE BY TUPAC SHAKUR

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, this week we will have to lay a brother to rest. He was taken off this earth at such a young age. It’s unfortunate that you had to depart so soon hommie but I guess even God wanted to keep your charming smile to himself in Heaven.
To those who took time to read this, I’m sure you’re all wondering “Then why in the world did this nigga not post a picture of his friend?” Well I decided to let the words paint a picture of this genuine soul for you.

I could go on and on about how you, Tetukeni, Gube, Benny and Moses gave birth to M-Kay the dreamchaser and how much of a genuine soul you were but I know you won’t see this post. I chose this poem not because of Pac’s death anniversary this year but because it best describes you, a rose that grew from a crack in the concrete.
We never give people roses while they can still smell them. Appreciate the people around you.

Rest in peace Tupac Shakur and more importantly rest in peace Haupindi Lazarus.
