Are Likes Validation on Social Media?

Social networks have taken over the world by storm, many people have become so addicted to them that they cannot go a day without logging on to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Different people use these services differently, some for business purposes and some to market their personal brands and basically to keep up with appearances.
The sad thing that social media has brought in this world is that it makes people seek for validation on line in the form of likes. For instance so many girls are beautiful but would not believe it unless they got 100+ likes on Instagram or Facebook. It is sad, girls are living on likes, they now need these likes to know that they are beautiful, being beautiful now has become dependent on the next person’s opinion it is no longer how you see yourself. The like options on social media has planted an unnecessary competition among users specially female users and the reason why females are bitter towards each other is because the males have made them think it’s a competition.
Social media has also given birth to a lot of horrible musician that bombard us with invites to like their pages and send us data file host links to their music, people are being artists and making music for the wrong reasons these days. It is all about the lifestyle (which is flaunted on social media) and no longer about the music. The solution to this is role models have to make it cool again for youngsters to read, a lot of autobiographies about celebrities have to be written because these are the type of books young people would be interested to read this will ignite young people to start reading and it will thus give them hope, inner peace and perspective. The youth should strive to engage in productive activities and worry about things that really matter, not how many people like their pictures or how many people they have as followers, by the way there is a life outside Twitter, there is a fleet of other things to do out there.
